Powell: Holiday giving

Heiskell United Methodist Church sponsored 28 Copper Ridge Elementary School families for Thanksgiving. School counselor Heather Hughes and social worker Greer Harvey organized the donations and even made deliveries to some homes. The guys pictured are volunteers from the church.

Christine Jessel Grider spent part of Saturday volunteering with Knox County Master Gardeners at Collier Preserve. She says, “If you haven’t walked it yet, the trail is easy and is one of Knox County’s new storybook trails. If you go in the spring you should start to see some of the newly planted native plants popping up!”
