Powell Elementary gets new principal

Karen Frost has been appointed principal of Powell Elementary effective July 2021. She joined Knox County Schools in 1997 as a teacher at Norwood Elementary. Frost also taught at Carter and Powell Elementary schools. She began her career in administration in 2005 when she was named assistant principal at Copper Ridge. She is currently assistant principal at Powell Elementary. Frost holds a bachelor’s degree in education from ETSI and a master’s in administration from LMU. She replaces Denise High, who has been at Powell since 2017.

Michele Carringer, state representative for District 16, will speak to the Fountain City Business & Professional Association at noon Wednesday, June 9, at Beaver Brook Country Club. Lunch is $14.
