Fred Massingill packs up his truck and weed whacker after clearing the grounds at the Powell Post Office. “Just got tired of looking at it,” he said. He went into the post office and asked if anyone minded. No one minded but no one could authorize it either. He just got started and worked the better part of a week to get the area cleaned up. He even arranged for pickup of the storm-damaged tree. All the while wearing a bright yellow T-shirt that read “Senior Softball League.”
