Pellissippi State Community College has a new partner supporting the continued growth of Panther Athletics.
UT Federal Credit Union is now the official corporate partner of Panther Athletics following the signing of a five-year partnership agreement during Panther Game Day at Pellissippi State’s Hardin Valley campus.
The partnership will support athletic programs, travel, uniforms, facility upgrades and other needs, while also benefiting scholarships and fundraising through the Pellissippi State Foundation. The college recently completed UT Federal Credit Union Field, a soccer field along Hardin Valley Road.
The partnership will extend beyond athletics. UTFCU also plans to develop financial literacy programs for Pellissippi State students and provide opportunities through financial education, scholarships, campus engagement, internships and financial services.
Pellissippi State President L. Anthony Wise Jr. said the college and UTFCU share a commitment to serving the community and helping make the region a strong place to live, work and raise a family.
“This partnership reaches far beyond just athletics,” UTFCU President and CEO Kenyon Warren said. “We’re excited to serve and build relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, and truly just the entire Pellissippi State community.”
During the event, Warren named men’s soccer player Yahir Pacheco the inaugural UT Federal Credit Union Student Athlete of the Month, an honor recognizing achievement both in competition and in the classroom.
The agreement also marks a first within the Tennessee Board of Regents system: It is the first partnership of its kind involving one of the system’s community colleges.
Panther Athletics is entering its fourth year, with student-athletes representing Pellissippi State in intercollegiate competition.
