The Pellissippi State Foundation has expanded its Board of Trustees with the addition of several community leaders who will help advance the foundation’s mission of supporting student success.
Joining the board are Joy Forster Carver, Bridgett McMahan, Sandi Swilley and Alex Willard, each bringing a unique blend of professional experience, community involvement and leadership. The foundation also welcomed Nathan Woods to the board. Woods was not pictured in the announcement.
Foundation leaders said the newest trustees will play an important role in strengthening efforts to create opportunities for Pellissippi State Community College students through scholarships, program support and community partnerships.
The board is composed of business and civic leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to help guide the foundation’s work. Trustees support fundraising initiatives, build relationships throughout the community and advocate for the college’s mission of expanding access to higher education and workforce development opportunities.
The foundation said its newest members share a strong commitment to student success and a passion for investing in the future of East Tennessee. Their diverse professional backgrounds and community leadership will help provide valuable perspectives as the foundation continues to grow its impact.
“We’re excited to welcome our newest members to the Pellissippi State Foundation Board of Trustees,” the foundation said in its announcement.
Foundation officials also expressed appreciation to the new trustees for their willingness to serve.
“Thank you to each of these outstanding leaders for sharing your time, talents and commitment to advancing student success,” the announcement said. “We look forward to the impact we’ll make together.”
The Pellissippi State Foundation provides financial support for Pellissippi State Community College by raising private funds that enhance educational opportunities, expand student resources and help remove financial barriers for students pursuing their academic and career goals.
Pellissippi State Community College is a public community college based in Knox and Blount counties in Tennessee and operated by the Tennessee Board of Regents. The college operates four campuses: Hardin Valley, Blount County, Strawberry Plains, and Magnolia Avenue.
