Services were held Thursday, April 21, for Patricia Collins Moran, 82, who died Monday, April 18, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis S Moran II, and she is survived by children Louis S Moran III and Staci Moran Crawford. Full obituary is here.
Patti Collins grew up in east Knoxville, attending East High School and the University of Tennessee. She and Lou Moran were married in March 1962.
Following her time at UT, she worked at Skyline Transportation until being named the first director of the Girls’ Club of Knoxville in 1963. She and Lou moved to Jackson, Mississippi, for several years, then returned to Knoxville to make their mark on the local independent insurance industry. Patti and Lou worked together at Inter-Agency Insurance for over 30 years. She also owned and ran Moran Builders “Fine Homes by Patti,” building custom homes in the Knoxville area.
Patti was involved in the community as a troop leader for Lou III’s cub scouts and Staci’s brownie and girl scouts, as a member of the Jaycees and The Akima Club, where she enjoyed working at Ronald McDonald House, and where she and Big Lou loved to jitterbug in Cabaret! She was a longtime member of First Christian Church.
