We’re having a party!

Yep, Legacy Parks Foundation is holding an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the Outdoor Adventure Center, 900 Volunteer Landing Lane.

Come and play on the water with canoe, kayak and paddleboard demos compliments of Billy Lush Boards and Brew.

Check out the newest taste of Blackhorse Brews, Knoxville’s Legacy Trail Ale. You can enjoy complimentary Blackhorse beer and appetizers.

More info is at our website and 865-525-2585.

Saturday, June 1, is National Trails Day, sponsored by the American Hiking Society. It’s a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the beautiful trails in our area, and maybe do a little volunteer work while you’re at it.

Rangers are looking forward to guiding guests on trails in the Smokies and at state parks such as Frozen Head, Cove Lake, Panther Creek and Big Ridge. Notice that there’s a sunset hike at Seven Islands State Birding Park.

Now that it’s summer (!), water activities are going to be even more plentiful. Now’s the time to try SUP yoga, kayaking and paddleboarding. You can even take to the water at night!

Look through the Outdoor Knoxville calendar to get more details about the Legacy Parks Open House, National Trails Day and water events.
