Multiple partners support West View Elementary

Second Presbyterian Church as a community partner delivered several loads of supplies for the classrooms at West View Elementary School last week. As a former educator, I know how grateful the staff of the school is for those supplies and the continued support these volunteers provide throughout the year. This is the 15th year for Second Presbyterian to be a supporter of West View.

Volunteers also came this past weekend from Second Presbyterian, Westminster Presbyterian and Clear Defense Pest Control, working both inside and outside to prepare the school for the first day student arrival.

Outside work included weeding, preparing beds, planting flowers, mulching, removing debris, pruning bushes and thinning perennials. Inside work included helping teachers prepare classrooms, bulletin boards, inventorying, sorting school/classroom supplies and working in the library.

This degree of community involvement in a school is valuable because it provides support for the educators, students and the parents contributing to the overall success of the entire community, not just the school.
