Age is no barrier to talent, and Morning Pointe Senior Living is preparing to prove it again when East Tennessee seniors take center stage at the historic Bijou Theatre in downtown Knoxville.

The Morning Pointe Foundation’s Seniors Got Talent Knoxville returns Tuesday, November 10, at 6:30 p.m., bringing together performers age 60 and older for an evening of music, entertainment and community celebration.

The annual showcase is more than a talent competition. Proceeds support the Morning Pointe Foundation, which provides scholarships for students pursuing careers in nursing, therapy, social work, culinary arts and other healthcare-related fields. The foundation also offers free caregiver education programs.

Auditions were held in September at Morning Pointe communities in Clinton, Hardin Valley, Knoxville and Powell, giving local seniors an opportunity to demonstrate talents ranging from singing and dancing to comedy, instrumental music and other creative performances.

“Seniors Got Talent is about giving older adults a place to be seen, heard and celebrated for who they are and what they can do,” said Greg A. Vital, co-founder of Morning Pointe Senior Living, in announcing this year’s auditions.

The Knoxville showcase has become an important part of the foundation’s fundraising efforts. In 2025, the event raised nearly $43,000, including more than $4,000 through People’s Choice voting.

Last year’s first-place winner was pianist Beverly Kerr. The Sapphires, an a cappella quartet, earned second place, while singer Joel Dupré finished third. Musical group Better with Every Breath received the People’s Choice Award.

Morning Pointe Senior Living operates assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities throughout East Tennessee, including locations in Knoxville, Hardin Valley, Powell, Clinton and Lenoir City.

The organization was founded in 1997 by Tennessee healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow. Its foundation extends that commitment to senior care by investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals and supporting families navigating caregiving responsibilities.

The November performance offers Knoxville residents an opportunity to celebrate the creativity and accomplishments of older adults while contributing to programs that benefit future caregivers.
