Mia Warren, Karns High School senior, earned her Girl Scout Gold Award by completing a project at the East Tennessee History Center. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest and most prestigious award in Girl Scouting.
Mia developed a QR code-based system to provide people who are visually impaired access to the interpretative signage throughout the museum and the project will likely be implemented by museums across the state to assist the visually impaired.
Not only did Mia receive her Gold Award, but Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs proclaimed last Thursday, January 4, 2024, Mia Warren Appreciation Day.
