Some dogs seem to arrive at the shelter with a story already written all over their faces. Then there’s Tater, a handsome almost 2-year-old pit mix whose story leaves us with one big question: How did this guy end up in a shelter in the first place?
If you ask Tater, he’s probably not too worried about the past. He’s much more interested in what comes next. Tater is a stunningly handsome fella with plenty of personality to match his good looks. He has great manners, a naturally curious personality and an enthusiasm for life that makes him the kind of dog who would be right at home tagging along on your next adventure. A hike, a walk around the neighborhood or simply exploring somewhere new? Tater is ready to investigate.
His curiosity can sometimes get the best of him, so his future family will want to continue working with him on his leash skills. But that’s all part of the fun of getting to know Tater. He’s smart, eager to experience the world and ready for someone who will help him channel all that enthusiasm. And while Tater has plenty of energy, don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s always on the go. This boy is also a huge lap dog. Once the adventure is over, Tater is more than happy to settle in for some serious snuggle time. He gives great cuddles and seems to have no idea that he is considerably larger than the average lap dog.
When it comes to canine companions, Tater has been a social butterfly. He has gotten along with every dog we’ve introduced him to, making him an especially fun candidate for a family looking to add a playful four-legged friend to the household. As always, proper introductions are important when bringing dogs together, but Tater has shown us that he enjoys making new friends.
Honestly, they could probably write books about how the perfect pitty mix somehow ended up in a shelter. Tater is handsome, sweet, playful, curious, affectionate and ready to experience life with his person. He doesn’t need a perfect home. He just needs his home.
