Maggie Lamb placed first in the Mountain Soul Vocal Competition held Saturday, May 16, at Tanger Sevierville Back Porch Stage. Two divisions competed in the competition, 12 and under plus 13 and older. Thirty finalists were chosen to compete for the titles. Maggie competed in the 12-and-under division.
Reaching the final round, Maggie competed against nine other finalists, and her performance of “Tennessee Homesick Blues” earned her the victory.
Not only did Maggie earn the title for being the top performer honoring the songwriting of Sevierville native Dolly Parton, but she also won a guitar signed by Dolly Parton, a Dollywood Season Pass, and $100.
