Mac English: ‘Her music warmed the house’

Sandra ClarkFountain City, Obits

A child’s tribute to a parent: “She was a talented pianist and could play hymns and show tunes by ear. Whereas most of the family might be able to hum part of a tune after hearing it the first time, Mac could come home and play it complete with the chords. Her music warmed the house throughout our lives.”

Mary A. Crowell “Mac” English passed away on February 25, 2022, at age 97. She was incredibly active in the Fountain City community for many years. She and husband Bill joined Fountain City United Methodist Church in 1958 and were active in church activities.

Mac also was in a bowling club and played golf at Beaver Brook Country Club. She was active in the Fontinalis Club and was president of the Student Museum Guild.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel in Fountain City. Additional obituary info is here.
