At Law. It’s a topic I’ve wanted to tackle for a while but didn’t have time until Susan Espiritu took on the heavy lifting. We get notices from DA Charme Allen every week. We monitor social media from the Sheriff’s Office. LMU Law School is handy for info, as is the University of Tennessee College of Law. We’ve had nowhere to run this content in our current format.
At Law will be a spot where we can keep up with the legal profession and the local courts. So, here goes.
Duncan School of Law, located on the LMU campus in downtown Knoxville, celebrated 15 years of operation on September 21, 2024, with a party at the Mill & Mine. The school is accredited now, but it was rocky going at first. Pete DeBusk, who envisioned the school and made it happen, literally sued the American Bar Association. Nobody does that! Info here
Knoxville Latino Bar Association held its second annual celebration on September 27, 2024, at The Foundry, World’s Fair Park. Honoree was Carlos Yusnan, the first Latino president of the Knoxville Bar Association. Info here
