Light the Park returns with countdown Nov. 21

Light the Park will once again usher in the winter holidays as Campbell Station Road is illuminated by thousands of sparkling lights. The display begins at the commuter lot next to the town of Farragut welcome sign on N. Campbell Station Road and continues to Founders Park at Campbell Station, the Farragut Community Center and Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza at the Campbell Station Inn. Lights come on every evening at dusk from Tuesday, Nov. 22, through Monday, Jan. 2.

Shop Farragut and the town of Farragut kick off Light the Park with the 11th annual Countdown to Light the Park from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Founders Park. A special guest in red will help flip the switch at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Additional parking will be available at the Farragut Community Center (239 Jamestowne Blvd.), the plaza at the corner of Kingston Pike and Campbell Station Road. Restrooms at Founders Park and the plaza will stay open until 10 p.m. nightly, except for Dec. 25, when restrooms are closed.

During Light the Park, there will be gift giveaways from local vendors and organizations and live entertainment most evenings through Dec. 23. Local food trucks will serve up delicious holiday cheer through Jan. 2. A calendar detailing all activities can be found here.

Santa’s mailbox will deliver all wishes directly to the North Pole! Letters can be placed in the mailbox at Founders Park for delivery by elves to the North Pole beginning Monday, Nov. 21. To receive a reply from Santa, please mail letters by Dec. 19 and include a return address!

Celebrate the Season returns on Dec. 1

Get ready for the holiday season with Celebrate the Season at the Farragut Community Center! From 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, children can have photos taken with Santa and enjoy cookie decorating and crafts. Pickleball open gym is noon to 2 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 4-6 p.m. on Thursdays. Cost is $4. No need to register, just bring a paddle and a ball.

Basketball open gym takes place from 2-9 p.m. on Mondays; 4-5 p.m. on Tuesdays; 2-5 p.m. on Wednesdays; 4-5 p.m. on Thursdays and 2-4:45 p.m. on Fridays. Cost is $4 per person per session. Bring a ball.

No open gym activities on Oct. 28, Nov. 24, Nov. 25, Dec. 9, Dec. 23, Dec. 26 and Dec. 30. Info about activities at the Farragut Community Center here.
