John Ewart, executive director Knoxville chapter of Associated General Contractors of Tennessee, took to social media to tout his group’s involvement with the Legends of Tennessee fundraiser to help support football camps around the state of Tennessee.

Ewart was proud to meet “all-time great running back Johnnie Jones.”

Jones, who played for Tennessee from 1981-84, was the first Vol to rush for 1,000 yards in a season (1983). Jones finished with 2,852 career rushing yards. According to UT stats, he totaled 517 carries, 19 rushing touchdowns and finished with 13 100-yard games. He was named second-team all-American by the Associated Press in 1984.

It must have been awkward during his career since some of those records he was breaking surely belonged to his coach, John Majors.
