Trees and butterflies at Seven Islands

Seven Islands State Birding Park is offering TN Trees: Identification, Folklore and Uses at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 9. Cost is $5. Join Ranger Clare on a 2–3-mile hike as she interprets the stories told by the trees, shares identification tips and explains the way people have used each tree species in the past and present. Seven Islands is also holding a Butterfly Foray and Monarch Tagging on Saturday and Sunady, Oct. 9-10 from 1-3 p.m. Take a 1–2-mile hike to find butterflies and tag as many monarchs as possible.
