The Third Creek Greenway will remain open, despite an earlier advisory from KUB. The utility said its contractor has revised plans for work on the KUB wastewater system along the section of greenway just west of S. Concord Street. In agreement with the city of Knoxville, KUB and its contractor have made slight trail diversions in the areas where crews will be working.
Work is set to begin Monday, June 17, and last through Friday, June 28, weather permitting, as part of a wastewater collection system pipeline and manhole rehabilitation project.
Appropriate signs and devices will be in place to alert trail users of upcoming path changes. KUB and the city ask trail users to be mindful of the presence of construction equipment, materials, vehicles and workers in these areas.
