Bearden soccer takes two, including Farragut rivalry
Bearden won twice during the week, edging Central 2-1 on Sept. 22 before shutting out rival Farragut 3-0 on Sept. 24. The two victories gave the Lady Bulldogs three consecutive wins.

Webb rolls through another pair of shutouts
Webb School of Knoxville continued its strong girls soccer run with two more shutouts. Webb defeated Girls Preparatory School 5-0 on Sept. 22 and followed with a 7-0 victory over Anderson County on Sept. 24.

Hardin Valley soccer answers with two shutouts
Hardin Valley Academy also had a perfect week in girls soccer. The Lady Hawks blanked Lenoir City 4-0 on Sept. 22 and Morristown East 7-0 on Sept. 24, scoring 11 goals without allowing one.

District volleyball race stays busy; Cross Country updates
West split two district matches, falling 3-0 at Maryville on Sept. 22 before bouncing back with a 3-0 sweep of Karns on Sept. 24.

Hardin Valley Academy swept Lenoir City 3-0 on Sept. 22 before William Blount stopped the streak with a 3-0 district win Sept. 24.

Webb volleyball starts week with two wins
Webb School of Knoxville gave us one result from Sept. 21 that was missed in last week’s roundup, sweeping Halls 2-0. The Lady Spartans followed it Sept. 22 with a 3-0 sweep of Cleveland.

Catholic runners dominate Sept. 21 Mounds Invitational
Another Sept. 21 result worth catching up on came from the Mounds Invitational in Oak Ridge, where Knoxville Catholic placed five runners in the top 10 of both varsity races.
Knoxville Catholic senior Cade Duncanson won the boys 5K in a course-record 15:48.80. Teammates Evan Van De Griff finished third, Reid Bannister fourth, Nathan Jurbergs fifth and Riley Horton 10th.
On the girls side, Catholic’s Caitlin Daniels placed second in 19:07.30, followed by Livi Ray in third, Drew Gerken in fourth, Julia Joyce in sixth and Olivia Garcia in 10th.
Cross country races under the lights at Victor Ashe
The East Tennessee Classic x Pace House brought area runners to Victor Ashe Park on Sept. 26 for Knoxville’s first night edition of the meet. The event began at sunset and used light towers along the course. Maryville’s Hadleih Mitchey won the girls race, while Daniel Boone captured the boys varsity team championship.
Performance of the Week: Bearden girls soccer
The KnoxTNToday Performance of the Week goes to Bearden girls soccer. The Lady Bulldogs won twice in three days, then capped the week with a 3-0 shutout of rival Farragut. The rivalry victory also extended Bearden’s winning streak to three matches.
