I have two big trips coming up so I stayed on the farm this week and helped with the family’s birds, even though they did look a mite tasty.
Follow my picture tour of one of my daily adventures feeding the birds and harvesting the morning supply of eggs.
- I went to coop and got in a nest but that was weird.
- I looked out of my nest and Molly, the chicken, was not happy with me next to her.
- Molly began telling me all these facts about chickens.
If you are wondering what the chicken, Molly, is telling me besides to get out of the coop, there are apparently several amazing facts about chickens. Check this out, according to Molly.
- Chickens can distinguish between 100 faces.
- They see more colors than humans.
- They make friends and will grieve.
- They can taste salt but not sweet.
- They have dreams when asleep.
- They world’s oldest chicken lived to age 16.
- There are more chickens on earth than humans.
- They cannot sweat.
- They can run at 9 mph. ( I know she told me that because I am a fox. )
- I did get some eggs from the other nests and the geese thought I was strange too, but the dog in the back was making me really nervous. She does not like intruders..
- I tried to figure out the ranger but couldn’t.
- Finally got in the passenger seat with my eggs and waited for a driver to take me back to the house.
