Knox the Fox headed out on another cruise, this time with Kathy King, her sister Angie Hobby and Carol Witt, their best friend since childhood.

The Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas set sail out of Port Miami, traveling first to Porta Plata for an eight-hour stop. Puerto Plata is the Dominican Republic’s oldest city.

The next stop for the girls’ trip (with Fox) was Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, for a little over seven hours of postcard beautiful scenery. They visited the botanical gardens and learned about many of the island plants and how they were used for medicinal purposes, but the girls experienced a Botanical Blast frozen drink made with mangos for their “medicinal purposes.”

The beautiful view of Magens Bay and the islands on the north and northeastern side of St. Thomas in the accompanying photo is taken from the Mountain Top Gift Shop visited on their journey.

Day 5 of the cruise took the group to the port of St. John’s, Antigua, touted as having a beach for every day of the year: 365 actual individual strips of white sand and picturesque waters. Kathy said this was their Island Safari Scenic Drive and Beach Excursion escapade on an open safari truck ride around the island.

Basseterre, Saint Kitts & Nevis didn’t disappoint with the historical estates and breathtaking scenery to discover.

Kathy said, “We had a wonderful, relaxing and fun time with beautiful scenery and fantastic weather. We loved the beaches. There were great shows on the ship!  We were girls just being girls talking about old times and making great new memories.”

Knox was in Arizona last week and Saint Lucia this week! Watch for those adventure stories soon!
