  • Powell Historical Society has a new meeting date. The group will now meet on the last Monday of the month, 7 p.m. at the Community Center on Emory Road. All are welcomed. Ron Evans is president.
  • BarberMcMurry Architects has promoted Megan Chafin, AIA, LEED AP, CDT, to senior associate and Paige Bolton to associate. Chafin joined the firm in 2012, rising to become a project manager and associate, and now senior associate. She also serves as the firm’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordinator and a leader of the firm’s sustainability group. Chafin earned her master’s of architecture from the University of Tennessee. She and husband Nick have two sons. Bolton has been with BarberMcMurry for 21 years, serving in marketing before her current position as executive assistant. An alumna of Carson-Newman University, Bolton and husband Mike have two sons.
  • Tate’s School is sponsoring a full-tuition scholarship to the family of a first responder for the 2019-20 school year. The scholarship is part of Tate’s 50-year anniversary celebration. Info here.
