Knoxville Central High School Bobcat Band performed their new for 2024, In the Pines, and won big at the regional high school marching band competition held in Bristol.

The competition is usually held at Tennessee High School and called Music at the Castle because their stadium looks like a castle. The East Tennessee State University marching band usually closes out the competition, but they were not able to this year due to many of their members dealing with cleanup from Hurricane Helene.

The band and color guard were awarded the following:

  • Superior rating
  • AA 1st place band
  • 1st place percussion
  • 1st place music
  • 1st place general effect
  • 1st place visual
  • 3rd place color guard
  • 3rd place drum major

Congratulations to Central’s band and band director Alex Mink.
