Kenny Cloninger was town hall leader

The family of Kenny Cloninger will receive friends Sunday, January 21, from 5-7 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 7 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Mr. Cloninger passed away on January 8, 2024, at age 76.

He and his wife, the late Kathy Cloninger, were active leaders in Fountain City, particularly in the Gibbs Drive Neighborhood Association and Fountain City Day in the Park, sponsored by Fountain City Town Hall. After their marriage in 1973, the Cloningers lovingly restored the Orndorff home on Gibbs Drive. Kenny was a skilled craftsman, an enthusiastic youth baseball coach and a dedicated father.

Sons and daughters-in-law are Michael and Stacey Cloninger and Patrick and Christine Cloninger. Other family members are mentioned in the obituary here.

Kenny was a solid neighbor and community leader. He grew up in Strawberry Plains, served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 46 years. He enjoyed photography, sports and traveling. His friends honored him as Fountain City Man of the Year in 2016.
