Karns Blog: Smithbilt meeting Wednesday

Josh Sanderson of Smithbilt will meet with interested persons to discuss the proposed Belltown development on W. Emory Road. The meeting is Wednesday, June 29, at 5:30 p.m. at the Karns Youth Center, 6616 Beaver Ridge Road, behind the Karns Fire Department. Design boards and handouts will be provided by Smithbilt. Come prepared for detailed discussion. Food truck will be present.

Sycamore Creek and Breanne Grubb will host a 3-hour launch party at 10120 Coward Mill Road from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 30. The party is open to all. SWATaco food truck will be catering. Door prizes for agents and buyers include a $250 gas card and a brand-new kayak.

Parkview Senior Living, 770 Broome Road, plans a car show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13. Tonya Massey, activities director, invites everyone with an old or vintage car to stop by. “This will not only make their day, but it will bring back memories.” Info: 865-357-2288 or 865-232-2312.

Julie McBee-Fritts is the new contact point for renting the Karns Community Center (old library) at 7708 Oak Ridge Highway or the Youth Center at 6616 Beaver Ridge Road (behind the fire station, near Bojangles).
