Karns blog: Come to the Fair

Karns Community Fair, Saturday, July 16, 10-3 p.m. at Karns High School. The Country Store will return this year. Residents are asked to donate a homemade baked good, homemade candy, jelly or jam, vegetables or a basket of fruit. Items can be dropped off at the Country Store booth, located in the gym.

Beaver Creek Kayak Club will have an “incredible kayak” up for raffle at its booth at the fair. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 with all proceeds benefitting the BCKC clean-up fund. Kayak was donated by club member Andy Morris.

Free Pool Party, Saturday, July 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Karns Pool, 6618 Beaver Ridge Road, sponsored by Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church. RSVP here.

Julie McBee-Fritts is the new contact point for renting the Karns Community Center (old library) at 7708 Oak Ridge Highway or the Youth Center at 6616 Beaver Ridge Road (behind the fire station, near Bojangles). Carolyn Greenwood, administrator of I Love Karns on Facebook, said checks can be made to Karns Community Club and mailed to 7511 Carpenter Road, Knoxville TN 37931. “And thanks to Pattie Loveday for handling this responsibility for years.”
