You can bibbity-bop at the sock hop Friday night!

The Knox County Museum of Education will host Sock Hop V from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 31, at the museum, 801 Tipton Ave.

The fun fundraiser will feature DJ Smokin’ Bill Rutherford, dancing, catered food, museum tours and a silent auction. Organizers have planned a smaller, more community-focused event this year rather than a gala, but attendees should definitely expect a good time.

The Knox County Museum of Education, housed in the Sarah Simpson Professional Development and Technology Center, is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit that preserves the history of education in Knoxville and Knox County, with artifacts dating back to 1820. Exhibits feature memorabilia from schools long gone and those still thriving. The museum is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.

Admission to Sock Hop V is $25 per person. Tickets are available in the museum and at the door.
