Christmas may still be a few months away, but Santa and Mrs. Claus are already getting ready for the season.
Michael and Suzanne Bell are the couple behind Jingle Bells Santa, bringing Santa and Mrs. Claus appearances to homes, schools, libraries, businesses, churches and community celebrations.
And this Santa comes prepared.
Michael Bell is a member of the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas, undergoes annual Santa Claus training and has completed a background check. Jingle Bells Santa is also fully insured. The Bells say their goal is to offer more than a quick photo and a “Ho, ho, ho.” They want children and families to experience the fun and wonder of a personal visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Home visits can include personalized greetings, photos, gift distribution, storybook reading and Christmas carols. Santa is also available for corporate gatherings, school and library programs, neighborhood parties and church or community events. Virtual visits are available for families who can’t be together in person.
There’s even room on Santa’s list for the four-legged members of the family. Photo sessions can include adults and children as well as pets, and the Bells welcome pet- and farm-friendly appearances.
Jingle Bells Santa generally makes appearances from October through January, although special events may be accommodated at other times of the year. The Bells recommend booking holiday appearances four to six weeks in advance because popular dates fill quickly.
For Michael and Suzanne, the emphasis is on making each appearance personal. Their stated mission centers on authenticity, reliability and creating a little Christmas magic from the moment Santa walks through the door.
After all, when your last name is Bell, perhaps Christmas was calling all along.
