JD Lambert, retired Central High School athletic director, was honored with the Claude C. Myers Man of the Year Award on Saturday, January 27, at the annual Fountain City Business banquet. The award is named for the longtime president of Fountain City Bank (before it was acquired by First Tennessee).

The banquet was held at Beaver Brook County Club with Trevor Bayne as the guest speaker. It was attended by a host of close friends, previous students and former colleagues to share in Lambert’s honor.

JD said the night was extremely special because of all those in attendance and the significance of the honor.

Megan O’Dell said it best when she said that sometimes you go get fancy with your friends for a good cause and are thankful to be able to honor JD because there is none better.

Jackie Raley described JD as a legendary friend who loves Central High School, the kids and the community with all of his heart.
