Hot air balloon launches Culinary Tours

That big balloon at Food City was visible from I-40 at West Hills and from points east and west. The weather cooperated perfectly as Food City launched its new Culinary Tours line of premium quality products.

Ross Purdy, VP of merchandising for the Abingdon, Va.-based food chain, said the private brand was designed with the tastes of customers in mind. Products represent tastes and recipes from 23 countries.

Purdy stressed that the new product line is in addition to existing international food items stocked by Food City stores. No items have been discontinued or replaced. All Food City stores will stock the new line with most items already on shelves.

Marketing professionals from The Tombras Group said, “When your food is made with flavors from all over the world, every dinner is a vacation.”

Tasting items included dips for fresh vegetables, spreads for bread and crackers and a tasty snack that included nuts and raisins. the Culinary Tours logo is a hot air balloon.
