Honor Juneteenth this weekend

Here’s a list of the Juneteenth celebrations going on in Knoxville this weekend.

Saturday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m.

SEEED Knox presents the Juneteenth Celebration Block Party at 1617 Dandridge Avenue, 37915. Enjoy a cookout and a fish fry. Other vendors will be on site and donations are appreciated to CashApp: $YSEEED.

Sunday, June 19 at 2-4 p.m.

A special Juneteenth and Father’s Day Celebration at Beck Cultural Exchange Center with a homemade meal by Heart & Soul Catering and music by Jazzspirations with Brian Clay as well as special presentations. Beck Cultural Center is located at 1927 Dandridge Avenue, 37915. Tickets are $35.

Monday, June 20 at 10 a.m-4 p.m.

The Beck Cultural Exchange Center and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission present the MLK Memorial Mark and Juneteenth Parade. Participants will meet at the Midway Chilhowee Park entrance at 3300 East Magnolia Avenue, 37914 at 8:30 a.m. The parade will step off at 10 a.m., concluding at Dr. Walter Hardy Park, 2020 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue. The Beck Juneteenth Celebration will be held at Dr. Walter Hardy Park immediately after from noon-4 p.m.
