Homecoming brings memories

Doug Clark said it best: “Good preaching, good food, good friends.” It was the annual homecoming at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, held this year in the air-conditioned cafeteria of Copper Ridge Elementary School, across the road.

The Rev. Charles Tindell, who grew up in the church, returned to bring the message. He is now pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where Ben and Shirley Webber attend. Daryl Henry and wife Glenda visited for the day. Daryl and his sister, Janice, were youngsters when their dad, the late Lloyd Henry, pastored Pleasant Hill.

There were familiar faces for this writer and a few new ones. Lots of kids enjoyed lunch from the dozens of slow cookers on a food-filled table. Quick! Before you blink twice it will be 50 years from now and those kids will be gathered to remember old times at Pleasant Hill.
