Hillcrest Healthcare opened The Gardens on Lake Brook at its West Hills Health & Rehab facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 23. West Hills staff, along with residents, caretakers and caseworkers participated at the ribbon-cutting event with the assistance of Hillcrest Healthcare leadership, the Knoxville Chamber and local elected officials.

The newly renovated hospice care unit will include 13 private rooms and is designed to provide a private and dignified care environment to hospice patients and their loved ones.

“The Gardens on Lake Brook will provide patients and families with the dedicated space and support they need to ensure dignity and comfort during a difficult time,” West Hills Administrator Ben Stiefel said. “As the only one of its kind in the city, this space will serve the needs of not only the West Hills community, but also the greater Knoxville area.”

The Gardens on Lake Brook comprises the hospice care wing, family lounge, kitchen and dining area, dedicated rooms for reflection, prayer and gathering, and around-the-clock acute symptom management and visitation.

Knox County Commissioners Evelyn Gill and Carson Dailey attended the opening, along with Knoxville City Council member Seema Singh.

“We welcome the hospice and the very special people who work here,” said Singh.

Bruce DiBernardo, vice president of managed care for Grace Healthcare, also attended.

The Gardens on Lake Brook is contracted with all local hospice providers and is accepting referrals. Info:  https://www.westhillshealthandrehabknoxville.com/ or 865-246-4112.
