Diogenes alert: Two Powell residents have been added to the Knox County Ethics Committee. Steven Goodpaster, past president of the Broadacres Homeowners Association and former chair of Enhance Powell, was appointed to a 4-year term by Mayor Glenn Jacobs. By a vote of the Knox County Commission Deborah Stafford (aka Nurse Debi) was added, also for four years.

Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, 405 Black Oak Drive, is hosting a Fall Festival for the whole family on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 5-8 p.m. No cost. Info at www.bohbc.org  Pre-register to be able to enter faster.

Community Harvest Block Party in Broadacres subdivision, Monday, Oct. 31, 5-9 p.m. Corner of Whitcomb and Broadmeade at the Cricket Club. Candy, hot dogs, hot chocolate, apple cider. Hosted by Bell’s Campground Baptist Church.

Wild Boar Tavern, 950 E. Emory Road, is hosting an event for kids on Saturday, Oct. 29, from noon to 3 p.m. Free hot dogs for kids. Multiple business sponsors.

Christmas Parade: It’s the 40th annual Powell Christmas Parade hosted by the Powell Lions Club on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 5 p.m. Step off at Powell Middle School and march on Emory to Brickyard Road.
