Many kids are enjoying summer camps and parents are looking for more opportunities to complete the summer before another school year begins. Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachia still has camps running until the end of July for girls in grades 2-12.
The camps range from camp sampler, horse camps, adventure camps and counselor in training camps.
Camp Sampler and horse camps are offered for most ages while the adventure and counselor in training camps are geared for the older girls.
The Adventure Out! program is an opportunity for rising 8th-10th graders to connect with each other and nature in a safe and supportive environment.
CIT stands for Counselor-in-Training, a challenging and fun program to build skills and experiences in leadership, program planning and implementation, which prepare young women to be a future camp counselor.
