Friday, May 6: It’s time for First Friday! Come celebrate local artists and enjoy new exhibitions, artist demos and live music at the Emporium Center downtown at 100 S. Gay Street from 5-9 p.m.
New exhibits include “Motion, Time and Light” by Denise K. Cumming and Mike C. Berry. Cumming is a self-taught artist whose work includes original paintings, large-scale pole carvings and experimental photography. Berry’s works include new compositions highlighting the urban landscape; they are created in pastel and charcoal, emphasizing movement and light within the cityscape.
Other First Friday happenings are detailed here, including exhibitions, music, performances, culinary arts, public art and more. Be on the lookout for the ArtWalk flags outside of participating downtown First Friday venues.
