Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, for Anderson County business and civic leader Garrett Bruce Asher, who died Oct. 12, 2021, at age 79. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School and Tennessee Tech.
After college, he joined Ridge Realty and enjoyed a long career in real estate sales and development. He was instrumental in bringing in the Boeing Corporation to Oak Ridge, along with Hertel Cutting Technologies, the CoorsTech Building, development of Centennial Golf Course, The Corporate Center, Commerce Park, Manhattan Shopping Center, Park Meade, 702 Scarboro Building, Oak Hills Estates, Oakcliff Estates, and Miller’s Landing on the lake in Loudon County.
