The weather was perfect and the neighbors kept stopping by the annual Garden Sale held May 22 at the Holston Hills community park. Four co-chairs coordinated the fundraiser for the Holston Hills Community Club, which maintains the park.
Millie Ward was quick to say the park, located at the corner of Chilhowee Drive and Holston Hills Road, across from the golf course, is owned by the community – not the city. “Although they do help us with mowing.”
It’s been a private park since 1956, she said.
The sale included crafts such as woven baskets and flower pots as well as healthy, locally grown plants and even a few small trees – all suitable for planting.
“We’ve had a terrific day, and we’re not done yet,” said Ward.
