Friends of the Library plans its annual used book sale

Friends of the Knox County Public Library will hold its Fall Used Book Sale on Thursday through Saturday, September 19-21, 2024, at Central United Methodist Church, 201 3rd Ave.

September 19 is for Friends’ members only from 3-7 p.m.; however, visitors may join at the door!

Otherwise, the sale will continue Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Most items will be priced at $2 or less except for collectible books. In addition, thousands of books, CDs, DVDs and audiobooks also will be for sale. On Saturday, items will be offered at half-price.

Proceeds benefit the Knox County Public Library.

Susan Espiritu is a lifelong Tennessean, born and raised in Fountain City with a short stint in Hawaii where she met her husband of now over 50 years, Charlie. Susan graduated in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee plus Master’s and Ed.S. degrees in Educational Leadership from University of Tennessee and Lincoln Memorial University, respectively. She taught in Knox County schools for over twenty years and served as principal of two KCS for a combined 16 years. After retirement, her love of writing led to a connection with Sandra Clark and KnoxTNToday evolving into a dream retirement of managing the online news in Clark’s semi-retirements. Susan cherishes time spent with husband Charlie, two daughters Maria & Kalea, and son Billy who have blessed her with nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
