Fountain City residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day outdoors at the Fountain City Lake “Duck Pond” on Bobby Wilson Fishing Day, Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. during a special community fishing event hosted in partnership with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and HawgMolly Fishing.
This free event is designed for all ages and skill levels, offering families, children, and first-time anglers an opportunity to learn about fishing, conservation, and outdoor recreation in a welcoming community atmosphere. June 6th marks the single day of the year all ages can fish without a fishing license!
Town Hall wants to encourage neighbors to utilize the lake for outdoor recreation. In that, they have partnered with TWRA representatives who will be on-site throughout the event, providing hands-on fishing education, demonstrations, and helpful tips on topics including fishing basics, water safety, aquatic wildlife, and responsible conservation practices. Participants will have the chance to ask questions and gain valuable knowledge from experienced wildlife and fisheries professionals.
The event will also feature a community fishing tournament sponsored by the HawgMolly Fishing team with prizes available, making it an exciting experience for both youth and adult participants. Whether attendees are experienced anglers or simply looking for a fun family activity, Town Hall believes the event is a great way to connect with nature and the local community.
HawgMolly Fishing team will open tournament registration to all ages at 8:00 a.m. The tournament closes at noon, and winners are announced by weight at 12:30 p.m. They must be present for the 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place announcements. Participants are encouraged to arrive early and bring their own lawn chair and fishing gear, if possible. Fountain City Town Hall will provide the first 30 Fountain City youth residents with a fishing rod and bait. TWRA will provide a demonstration on how to tie and bait your hook with tips and tricks to win the tournament.
