Charles E. Williams Jr., 68, passed away Sept. 3, 2021, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was a commercial artist and cartoonist who did freelance work for Shopper News for many years. His wife, Sylvia Williams, was the longtime director of the Fountain City Art Center. Both attended Gresham and Central High. They met in 1970 in art class and have been married almost 48 years. Their children, Charles III and Olivia Shuirr, have been supportive during Charles’ illness. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later time, when the risk of covid has lessened.
