Thanks and congratulations to associates from the Powell Food City who participated in the July Fourth festivities at Powell Station Park. Our crew prepared and served free hot dogs to folks in a line that stretched almost to Karns!

The picnic started right after the parade with a Pledge of Allegiance, Candence Beck singing God Bless America and Larry Bailey leading a prayer of thanksgiving.

Everything was free – hot dogs, lemonade, watermelon, snow cones, cookies, ice cream, chips, popcorn, pizza and tons of candy – all sponsored by various members of the Powell Business and Professional Association. Click here to see comments.

Food City is proud to support community events like this one. Next up for Powell is the big celebration with car show and flotilla on Saturday, Aug. 16. You can bet your friends from Food City will be right in the middle.

Don’t forget to kick in $1, $3 or $5 at the Food City checkout to benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the nation’s only nonprofit organization dedicated solely to supporting veterans with spinal cord injuries, disorders and diseases, has kicked off an annual checkout campaign just days before the fourth of July holiday with long-time partners Food City and champion race car driver Richard Petty. The campaign will run through July 27.

Special prices on brands you love plus fresh deli sandwiches for your summer picnic. Prices are good today and Saturday (July 9-10):
