Good things come to those who bait.

Kevin Barber claimed first place in the 2021 Irwin Food City Bass Tournament, catching five fish that weighed 19.1 pounds. We had the Food City shopping cart and hot air balloon plus the Mayfield cow.

And we raised a total $232,600 for the Boys & Girls Club of Tennessee Valley. Thanks to all who participated. For a rundown of the scores and participants, go here.

Scott Bacon wrote: “That is one terrific event that Judge Tim Irwin, Emerson Breeden, Betsi James and so many others work on to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs. It generates needed revenues for the clubs while getting a sportsman audience engaged in helping serve kids across the Tennessee Valley.”

Visit Knoxville Golf School for Kids, presented by Food City, is Saturday, May 8, from 10 a.m. until noon at Fairways & Greens, 626 Simmons Road. Free, with prizes and goodie bags. Will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs. Register here.
