FHS has 17 National Merit Semifinalists

Farragut High School announced 17 students chosen as 2024 National Merit Semifinalists from the school, the most of any school in the area.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition that recognizes and rewards high-achieving high school students. The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes students based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and those who advance through the various stages of the program are identified as The National Merit Finalists.

Elynn An, Iris Chen, Elaina Conger, Grace Feng, Audrey Fey, Madeline Gao, Caleb Han, Jesse Hao, Danial Khan, Michelle Lin, Elliot Mandl, Vivaaan, Singhvi, Reuben Soans, Channing Tan, Tom Williamson, Nicholas Yan and Iris Ye will now submit additional information, such as their academic records, extracurricular activities, leadership positions, and essays, in their quest to become finalists.

Regardless of the outcome, being named a semifinalist is a significant achievement and opens up opportunities for scholarships and recognition at the college level. This is an impressive accomplishment that recognizes the hard work and academic excellence of these students.
