Farragut to host eclipse event at McFee Park

The Almost Total Eclipse of the Park Party is Monday, April 8, 2024, 2-3:30 p.m. at the McFee Park Great Lawn in Farragut. Knox County Schools will operate on a half-day release schedule:

  • 11:15 a.m. for kindergarten through grade 5
  • Noon for grades 6-12, except 1 p.m. at Career Magnet Academy and L&N STEM Academy
  • For pre-K programs, communicate with teachers

The free Farragut event is open to all ages with a limited number of eclipse glasses available for viewing the peak of the eclipse at 3:07 p.m.

Remember, it’s not safe to view the eclipse with the naked eye or by looking through unfiltered optical devices such as binoculars or telescopes. For tips on watching the eclipse, visit How to View Eclipse.

The afternoon event will feature a craft and yard games including the Happy Dog Creamery who will be onsite with homemade ice cream for purchase.
