Congratulations to Knox County Schools teacher Dion Dykes who was invited to sit with Dr. Jill Biden at the State of the Union in Washington, D. C. These pictures were tweeted by Dr. Biden in her recognition of his impending graduation from the Grow Your Own Program at Lincoln Memorial University.

Dr. Biden tweeted, “It was an honor to have Mr. Dykes join me as a guest at the State of the Union last night. Soon he will step into his very own classroom in Knoxville thanks to Tennessee’s Teacher Registered Apprentice program.”

Dion wants to teach second or third grade and as his former principal at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy, I am excited to see him impacting future generations of young people!
