Early birds catch the fog in beautiful Cades Cove

Christopher RobinOur Town Arts

Early mornings lend themselves to fog dancing elusively among the Sparks Lane tree line in Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s here, or there, only briefly fleeting among the trees and meadows.

That short-lived, cat-feet fog is the point of this painting where I wanted to see if I could capture it long enough to put on canvas. As early morning moves on the fog burns off, and it’s just another day in a beautiful spot. Get outside to see the fog; but be early.
