The Kraken’s Cup Tearoom is inviting tea lovers, animal lovers, and anyone who enjoys a little spooky fun to its third annual “Double, Double Tea and Trouble” Spook-Tacular Tea Party on Sunday, October 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will benefit the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley (HSTV) in celebration of Black Cat Awareness Month.
Located in Knoxville, The Kraken’s Cup is an award-winning, full-service English-style tearoom and restaurant known for its afternoon tea, lunch service, and creative public and private events. For this special afternoon, the tearoom will transform into a festive gathering fit for witches, wizards, sorcerers, warlocks and their families. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best family-friendly spooky attire and enjoy an afternoon filled with tea, treats and a little bit of trouble.
Your $45 ticket includes access to The Kraken’s Cup’s classic afternoon tea buffet, featuring an assortment of delightful tea-time treats and tiny sandwiches, along with a selection of teas. Alson with a portion of every ticket sold, guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a spooky-themed tea basket raffle, browse a silent auction all benefiting HSTV, and enjoy a fortune teller and other surprises throughout the afternoon.
Black cats have long been surrounded by myths and superstitions, but at HSTV, they are simply wonderful cats looking for loving homes. Black Cat Awareness Month offers an opportunity to celebrate these beautiful animals, dispel outdated superstitions and shine a little extra light on the black cats waiting for their forever families.

Pet Tip: Halloween can be stressful for cats, so keep your feline friends safely indoors and give thema quiet space away from the door and trick-or-treaters. Be mindful of candles, electrical cords, fake spider webs, small decorations, and Halloween candy that pose hazards to our curious cats. And remember, black cats are not bad luck, they’re just looking for love and a cozy place to nap like the rest of us!
