Have you ever found yourself craving some good, down-home, country cooking but NOT wanting to cook the same mouth-watering meal?

The Dining Duo found themselves in that very dilemma, but also found a delicious resolution at the Amber Restaurant, 6713 Maynardville Pike,

The Amber is known for its large portions, reasonable prices, and good food.

Duo One chose the fried catfish, fried green tomatoes, and coleslaw. Sweet tea and tartar sauce made for a wonderful meal.

Duo Two ordered breakfast that included scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, and gravy. With a jelly biscuit for “dessert,” it was a meal that will be repeated!

We suggest that you try the Amber for breakfast or lunch. You won’t be disappointed.

Open from 7:00 to 3:00 every day except Wednesday, you can order breakfast all day or choose from the lunch menu.

Dining Duo is looking for the “hidden gem eateries “where the locals fill the breakfast and lunch hour; those local haunts tucked into the out-of-the-way or right on the way places missed in the hustle and bustle of the day. Please email us your recommendations at knoxtndiningduo@gmail.com.
