Summer is almost here, and the pull of our beautiful Smokies gets stronger and stronger. Whether you are going for the day to shop, visit Dollywood, or cool off at Soaky Mountain water park, you will need food for energy (and lots of it!). We recommend Pelanchos Mexican restaurant at 10725 Chapman Hwy in Seymour, TN.
Located in the Macon Crossing Shopping Center, Pelanchos offers plenty of free parking and Handicap accessibility.
As you enter the restaurant, you will notice the amazing decor. Hand-painted chairs, booths, and a slate ceiling give us an East TN feel of old Mexico. Fast seating(indoors or out) with an even faster appearance of a waiter lets you know you are in for a treat.
Almost as soon as the Dining Duo sat down, our drink order was taken and served. Warm chips and salsa appeared like magic, and after a good, long look at the menu, our choices were made.
Duo One picked the Taco salad and was very impressed. Piled high in the tortilla bowl were seasoned beef, tomatoes, jalapeños, salsa, and sour cream. Since you can eat the bowl, the “Clean Plate Club” is easy to attain.
Duo Two ordered a Combination Plate with a Chalupa, a taco, rice, and beans. Way too much food for one meal; it went home to become a delicious midnight snack. Knowing that there was a traditional Gatlinburg Carmel apple in our near future, we skipped dessert.
Conveniently located, moderately priced, quick service, and good food make Pelanchos a perfect choice. Open daily 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. with an extension to 10 p.m. on Fridays. Offering takeout or delivery, a children’s menu, and specialized options, such as vegetarian items, makes this even more inviting.
